About the Store

In 2015, Northside Marine celebrated 50 years of remarkable growth and evolution, becoming one of the largest marine dealerships in Australia, all under the guidance of the Nickerson Family. The journey began in 1965 when Keith and Marlene Nickerson opened a modest 30m² store on Kift Street in Deagon, catering to local boating enthusiasts in north Brisbane by offering boating parts. A year later, they introduced their first outboard brand, Johnson Outboards, which they sold for many years.

Expanding into boat and motor sales was a natural progression for Keith, who had been sailing and powerboating in the local area for years. Over the decades, Northside Marine has cherished its long-term relationships with various marquee suppliers. Notable brands like Malibu, Glastron, Stabicraft, and Surtees have joined long-standing partnerships with Whittley Cruisers (30 years), Club Marine (30 years), Stacer (20 years), Yamaha Outboards (10 years), Humminbird (30 years), Garmin (20 years), Fusion (11 years), and GME (30 years), among others. While there have been some changes in brands over the years, one constant has been the leadership of the Nickerson Family. Today, under the stewardship of Greg and Trish Nickerson, Northside Marine operates from a purpose-built 10,000m² dealership located just 20 minutes north of Brisbane CBD in Boondall, Queensland.
